Joi is a native Floridian who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Public Administration degree from Florida A&M University. Joi also earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida State University. After graduation, Joi’s legal career began working with clients in domestic relations cases, personal injury and she negotiated countless settlements on behalf of Panhandle residents in the wake of the 2010 BP Oil Spill Crisis.
In the spring of 2014, Joi moved to the Greater Atlanta Area, with her Veteran husband, Terruss Reed. After joining a large PI firm where she worked diligently for almost 5 years, in October 2019, she joined with her law school classmate, Laurie M. Thomas to form Reed Thomas Law Group. Joi and Laurie will provide services to National Financial Group clients in personal injury, estate planning, family law, civil litigation, appeals, mediation (civil and domestic) and arbitration.
Joi is a member of the Florida Bar (Admitted 9/2006); Georgia Bar; American Association for Justice; American Bar Association; National Bar Association; Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys; National Notary Association, and also barred in the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Northern District of Georgia. In her spare time, Joi loves spending time with her husband, family and friends, reading novels, traveling, actively worshiping with her church family and serving her community through her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta, Inc.
